Kate Middleton

The Queen of England is telling Prince William that Kate Middleton has to get a job and actually work before they take any steps towards marriage. The subject of Kate Middleton’s lack of employment since she graduated college three years ago. She’s piddled with this and that, but she’s not actually been employed. She seems to be focusing more on a career as Princess in Waiting as opposed to seeking out any other career paths.

At 82-years-old, the Queen maintains a full work schedule and is said to feel strongly that people should work. She also is said to feel strongly that the Royals should set an example of hard work. She doesn’t quite know what Kate Middleton does with her time and doesn’t want a public relations problem that might be caused by having a Royal WAG on William’s arm.

So she’s laid down the law to William. Kate gets a job. Period. Oh, and she has to actually work the job for more than a month or two (which has been her pattern).

I guess time will tell if the Queen will be able to influence Kate to do more than wait for Prince William to ask her to marry him.

The Queen’s oldest grandson and Prince William look-alike, Peter Phillips married his Canadian girlfriend today at Windsor Castle. Peter Phillips is the son of the Queen’s only daughter Anne, the Princess Royal.

There’s been a few little problems along the way, like the couple selling exclusive access to photographers from Hello! magazine for nearly a million dollars. The photogs of Britain were pretty mad about that and rumors are that the Queen wasn’t happy about it either. I guess its pretty low-class to do that, but hey, if you can get that kind of money for your wedding pictures …..

Also, the bride had to convert from Catholicism. I think it was the first Queen Elizabeth who put a law into effect that Catholics had to renounce their right to the Throne unless they converted to the Church of England. I think she did that because of what her sister and predecessor, Queen Mary (aka Bloody Mary) had done to keep Catholics on the throne. But I could be wrong.

Anyway, so much for the history lesson. Everyone was beautiful, the Bridesmaids gowns were Vera Wang and gorgeous. The Bride wore a tiara loaned to her from her new mother-in-law. Everyone was smiling, happy and gorgeous. What else can be said.

Princess Aiko of Japan was the picture of propriety when she arrived for her first day of primary school accompanied by her parents, Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako. She was dressed in a navy sailor suit with a red neckerchief for her first day at Gakushuin Primary School. Her mother was dressed in a white suit and a proud smile.

The school is just a few yards from the family home, Togu Palace. The Princess will be expected to walk to school each day just like her fellow students.

When the Princess Aiko was born plans were made to change Japanese law to allow women to inherit the throne. However, the plans were put aside when her cousin Prince Hisahito was born. He is the son of Naruhito’s brother Akishino and is the first male heir born into the Japanese royal family in four decades. With the laws as they are now, Aiko will lose her royal status should she decide to marry.

Princes Eugenie turns 18 on March 23rd and like her sister, Princess Beatrice, before her, she’s doing the cover of Tatler magazine to commemorate the event. Unlike her sister, she’s not having a big lavish costume coming out party. She’s opting for a smaller family event at Windsor.

She and her sister are the daughters of the Duke and Duchess of York. They’ve rarely been in the news other than in connection with family events, but that’s been changing a little bit lately. There has been some gossip about Beatrice out and about London with her boyfriend and now Eugenie looks to have grown from an awkward teen into a stunning young woman. Or it could be photoshop. Time will tell.

Yeah, okay, these are old pictures. They were taken in September 2005 at the wedding of Tom Parker Bowles and Sara Buys. The pictures have just now been made public for some reason and they don’t really mean anything except that the Prince doesn’t mind letting his hair down and having a good time. The blond is an Australian but otherwise is not identified.

They say Kate Middleton booked a trip with her family to Barbados so she’d have an excuse not to spend the Christmas holidays with the Royal family. Ouch.

Apparently its not the first time. She got an invitation from the Queen to spend last Christmas with the Royal family and opted instead to go to Scotland with her mother. That sort of invitation from the Queen is unprecedented for a royal girlfriend and turning it down is also unprecedented. So this time she planned the trip ahead of time. Ouch again. I guess spending time with the Royals is probably not a ton of fun. And they look like such party people! ha!

As the investigation into Princess Diana’s death continues, copies of her love letters to Dodi Fayed have been released, according to this story:

In a letter thanking Fayed for a six-day holiday on his yacht in the summer of 1997, Diana wrote: “This comes with all the love in the world and as always a million heartfelt thanks for bringing such joy into this chick’s life.”

Michael Mansfield, a lawyer for Fayed’s father, Mohamed Al Fayed, also produced a letter which the princess sent with a gift of cufflinks.

“Darling Dodi, these cufflinks were the very last gift from the man I loved most in the world, my father,” she wrote.

“They are given to you as I know how much joy it would give him to know they were in such safe and special hands. Fondest love, Diana.”

I think the notes are rather sweet. My god! She gave him cufflinks that were the very last gift from her father. She must’ve really love Dodi.

The Queen’s granddaughter, Zara Phillips, got some great cleavage and decided to show it last night. The princess showed up at a Honky Tonk Blues themed charity ball in a Roberto Cavalli dress, tied at the midriff with a black ribbon and revealing a whole lot of skin and a little bit of black bra. This is the second time in a week Zara has been a little more …. revealing …… in her dress than usual. She made the tabloids last week when she showed up to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip’s sixth anniversary celebration with a dress short enough that people noticed it.

So is Zara going to start being competition for her cousins the Princes Harry and William? Yippie ki yay.

Chelsy Davy has broken up with Prince Harry of Britain. She has been his long-time girlfriend. But over the past few months she has appeared to be very unhappy.

She is attending school at Leeds in Northern England. Its been reported over the past few months that she’s been terribly unhappy there and has made every excuse to go to London to be with Harry. The problem has been that Harry hasn’t made much of an effort to go see her at Leeds. One time he left her waiting in the airport for hours before he got there to pick her up for a weekend visit. He has also chosen other activities rather than spend time with her. For instance, he went to France to watch a rugby match rather than attend her 22nd birthday party.

I’m sure its been frustrating for her to move to England and attend Leeds at his recommendation only to have him ignore her when she gets there. She’s 6,000 miles from her home and friends in Zimbabwe. Harry, on the other hand, seems to be increasingly out of control with his drinking and frustration that he is not being allowed to be deployed with his military unit. He seems to have lost his motivation to succeed with his Army career. This is a lot of stress for the young couple to deal with.

Its not easy being Royal.
