Carrie UnderwoodPETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has named Carrie Underwood and Kevin Eubanks this years ‘World’s Sexiest Vegetarians’.

This is the second time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood has won the award. She also held the title in 2005. This is Kevin Eubanks first time as the World’s Sexiest Vegetarian. He is the leader of NBC’s Tonight Show Band. Jay Leno ran a campaign on behalf of Eubanks urging his viewers to call in votes.

Runners-up in the contest, which the animal rights group said drew more than 110,000 votes on its Web site, included Joaquin Phoenix, Milo Ventimiglia, Kristen Bell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jared Leto and Lisa Edelstein.

Last year, Prince and Bell, who starred on the “Veronica Mars” TV series, were picked as the two sexiest vegetarians. Previous winners also include Natalie Portman, Andre 3000, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Shania Twain, Tobey Maguire, Lauren Bush, Josh Hartnett and Alicia Silverstone.

These pictures are said to have been taken while Michael Jackson was at an orphanage in Japan shopping for a new pet child.

As you can see, Jacko still has his children covering their faces with masks. Pictured in the black mask is Blanket Jackson. Look at his eyes. That is a sad looking child. It’s chilling to try to imagine what their childhoods have been like.

The masks just don’t hide the sadness in both of the children’s eyes.

It’s too bad money can buy children.

Lindsay Lohan on drugs

TMZ is reporting that Lindsay Lohan had alcohol and cocaine in her system when she crashed her car Memorial Day.

According to multiple law enforcement sources, toxicology reports conclude that Lohan, 20, had “nearly twice the legal limit” of alcohol and traces of blow in her bloodstream when she crashed her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible into a curb on Sunset Blvd. around 5:30 AM on May 26. In California, drivers with a .08 or higher are legally drunk.

I know, it’s hard to believe. Even shocking!

A case against Lohan could be presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney by the Beverly Hills Police Department within the next few days.

Victoria Beckham Raises … ah … the Flag

Victoria Beckham

Okay, so this is apparently the only part of the photos of the Spice Girls photo shoot the other day that people are really interested in.

It’s not that I didn’t notice it, I did. It’s just I didn’t realize I had to emphasize it. I guess I didn’t cause everyone else has noticed it anyway.

I guess everyone was fascinated with Victoria Beckham raising the flag. Enjoy it boys!

Timothy Olyphant as Seth BullockIn a recent interview with comingsoon Timothy Olyphant sounded doubtful about the future of the HBO series, Deadwood.

In the last few years, Olyphant’s become more recognizable for his role playing Seth Bullock on HBO’s “Deadwood,” which was recently cancelled, and we wondered whether there were still plans to continue the story into a series of movies as originally planned. Olyphant was doubtful. “I have no idea. There’s been ongoing talk about those things for a long, long time. I, for better or for worse, have the perspective of ‘don’t hold your breath.’ My feeling is that the fact that show existed at all for as long as it did was a miracle of sorts. It was an incredible experience, and I’m very, very thankful, and as a fan of the show like everybody else, it would have been nice to see it end in a different way or have more life to it, but as far as I’m concerned, they don’t owe me anything. It was a tremendous experience, I look at it that way. I walk away going, ‘I must be a better actor because of that show.’ Three years on TV is better than seven years on TV, you know?”

WHAT?!? WHAT?!? Deadwood is dead? NO! It can’t be! It’s only the best western series EVER!

They’ve been telling us ever since the last episode they were going to bring Deadwood back. HBO replaced it with some *spit* surfer *spit* show, John from Cincinnati *spit*. It didn’t have a decent ending. It just stopped. There wasn’t any resolution to anything. Surely, they can’t leave it like that.

Sigh. This news is just too much. It really is.

Spice Girls

LONDON (Reuters) - “Girl Power” is back with the announcement that the Spice Girls, who topped charts in the late 1990s, are reuniting for a tour and greatest hits album.

Ginger, Sporty, Posh, Scary and a heavily pregnant Baby Spice told a press conference in London on Thursday that the tour would take place in December and January and would be accompanied by a television documentary about the band.

The 11-city tour starts in Los Angeles on December 7 and ends on January 24 next year in Buenos Aires.

“Girl power is back, we’re going on the road, we’re touring the world,” Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton said in a promotional video shown to the press before the five girls appeared on stage at London’s O2 arena.

Apparently Tom Cruise’s Scientology is a bit much for the folks in Berlin. Really, can Tom Cruise be taken seriously and can Scientology be seriously described as a religion? I don’t know, but it just doesn’t seem to fit what is typically considered a religion.

Cruise’s Scientology Stirs Ire in Berlin

By DAVID RISING
BERLIN (AP) - Two hot-button issues in Germany - the Nazi era and Scientology - are being pushed simultaneously by a new film in which Tom Cruise plays the country’s most-famous anti-Hitler plotter, sparking controversy in Berlin.

Cruise, one of Scientology’s best-known adherents, is to play Col. Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg - the aristocratic army officer executed after a failed attempt to assassinate Hitler in 1944 - in director Bryan Singer’s new film “Valkyrie.”

The film’s German co-producers say they were given permission to use the former German general staff headquarters in Berlin, where Stauffenberg worked and where he was executed, and that they plan a detailed, historically accurate treatment.

But word that a Scientologist would play Stauffenberg has rubbed some the wrong way. Germany’s government considers Scientology a commercial enterprise that takes advantage of vulnerable people, and critics maintain that one of its adherents should not be playing one of the Nazi-era’s few heroes.

Stauffenberg “is to be played by an actor whose sect, through dubious methods, attempts to lure people and make them pliable,” Social Democratic lawmaker Klaus Uwe Benneter said on his Web site. “This is a slap in the face to all upstanding democrats, all resistance fighters during the Third Reich, and all victims of the Scientology sect.”

Sabine Weber, a spokeswoman for Scientology in Berlin, said she was “shocked” that politicians would speak out against Cruise starring in the movie, saying that it was a “call to discrimination” against someone because of religious beliefs, which violates German and European human-rights codes.

The film’s producers maintain the criticism is misguided, accusing politicians of making hay of a non-issue.

“Basically, some politicians are using the popularity of Tom Cruise to become popular themselves,” Carl Woebcken, head of the Babelsberg studio that is slated to co-produce the film in Germany, told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

“This is not a Scientology film, it is a Bryan Singer film, and Bryan Singer is Jewish … and they want to make this film to show that during the Nazi regime there was heroic resistance,” Woebcken said. “The personal beliefs of Tom Cruise have to be separated from his skills as an actor. He is one of the best, if not the best, actors in the world for heroic roles and that is why Bryan Singer approached him.”

United Artists called its film “a historically accurate thriller” and said in a statement that “Mr. Cruise’s personal beliefs have absolutely no bearing on the movie’s plot, themes or content.”

Germany’s federal agency that tracks extremism has had Scientology under observation for a decade on allegations that it “threatens the peaceful democratic order” of the country. The Scientologists long have battled to end the surveillance, saying it is an abuse of their right to freedom of religion, and the U.S. State Department regularly criticizes Germany in its annual Human Rights Report for the monitoring practice.

Stauffenberg’s son Berthold Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg has spoken out against Cruise playing the role, telling the Sueddeutsche Zeitung that “he should keep his fingers off my father,” and adding that he feared the movie would be “terrible kitsch.”

You can read the rest of the article HERE. Does anyone take Tom Cruise seriously anymore? And Scientology is a recent invention. When Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were about to marry, I remember reading all the things required for a Scientology wedding. But then, Tom Cruise seems like someone who would go for something way out there like that.
