You’ve come to the right place.

Lydia Hearst has just bought her first apartment. According to city records filed today, she paid $1.49 million in December for a high-floor apartment at Sheffield57. She says she chose to buy a midtown condo conversion because she loves being downtown. Her apartment is right next door the Hearst Corporation, but faces in the opposite direction, towards New Jersey. She says it would be a little awkward to wave at her family in the offices every morning when she wakes up.
As for decorating, Ms. Hearst says she’s having to build more closets - she has a bit of a wardrobe after all! She’s also bringing the feel of her maternal great-grandfather’s (William Randolph Hearst) 29 bedroom mansion to her 2 bedroom condo. That should be interesting to see how she pulls that off. Of course, she’s getting a lot of help with antiques that were her great grandfathers to add to the ambiance.
Lydia is the daughter of Patricia Campbell Hearst and Bernard Shaw. Patricia Hearst rose to fame when she was kidnapped in the 1970s by the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). Lydia prefers her name to be Lydia Hearst rather than Lydia Hearst-Shaw which is her legal name. I guess if I had the option of ‘Hearst’ as my last name I would prefer that too. She was born on September 19, 1984 and has begun a modeling career.
Another day, another heiress ….
