In the video interview above, Heath Ledger mentions death in relation to his feelings about his daughter, “I feel good about dying because I feel alive through her.” He went on to say she also gave him more reason to live because he wanted to be with her and watch her grow.

Rumors have run rampant this afternoon about the circumstances surrounding Heath Ledger’s death. The police have reported that pills were not found ’strewn around his body’ as has been reported. Instead the prescription pills were found in the apartment, apparently sitting on a night stand by the bed.

Heath’s body was found lying face down on the floor at the foot of his bed at around 3:30 this afternoon. Both his housekeeper and masseuse arrived at the apartment at about the same time. When Heath did not come out of his bedroom for his appointment with the masseuse, both women went to the bedroom and found him unresponsive. Current reports are that he “had been dead for a while” and there were no visible signs of trauma.

When the news of his death first broke there were rumors that he was in the apartment of Mary Kate Olsen. That was not true. That rumor started because the masseuse was friends with a bodyguard of the Olsens. As the housekeeper called the police, the masseuse called her friend, who is also an EMT and who was at Ashley Olsen’s apartment is around the corner. The police arrived before the bodyguard. So that’s how the Olsens got connected to the death of Heath Ledger.

As with most things, a little bit of information can be a dangerous thing.

Its also been reported that he has been suffering from pneumonia recently which accounts for some of the meds that were in his apartment. His family has strongly related that he was not suicidal and an overdose was without doubt accidental.

The autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow and I’m sure there will be more answers following that. All of the speculation and running with rumors will subside as the actual facts will come out. I think Heath Ledger was many people’s favorite actor. I know he was certainly one of mine. We are very saddened at this horribly untimely death.
