Britney Spears showed up at a party at Newport Beach dressed like … a pirate. I think maybe she got confused. TALK like a pirate day was just a few days ago. Maybe she thought it was DRESS like a pirate day and was confused about which day it was.

Okay, I’m just trying to figure this outfit out.

I’ll be the first to say that I don’t like David Letterman. I’ve never understood why anyone thought he was funny. He has his moments, but mostly he just comes across as mean.

I can’t believe I’m defending Paris Hilton. But really, doesn’t he just come across as mean and doesn’t she look like she’s on the verge of tears a couple of times.

Natalie Portman sensually graces the big screen for the 13 minute prequel of the feature-length film The Darjeeling Limited. Her character is the obsession of one of the brothers in the movie that will be released November 23rd. The short film Hotel Chevalier sets up the story for the full length movie and has been being shown with the movie.

Kimberly Stewart helped launch the opening of a Playboy store last night with an ample view of her silicone-less cleavage. She had her implants removed and gave them to Jack Osborne - I kid you not.

Kimberly had an enlargement at 18, but decided to return to her natural state - and rather curiously gave the lumps of silicone to her friend Jack Osbourne as a gift.

She said: “I gave him my implants, I framed them and I signed them and I engraved them and he has them on his bathroom wall.

Maybe she’s on some kind of budget plan and just getting one removed at a time? Just wondering.

David Beckham has been estranged from his father, Ted, since the elder Beckham divorced Ted’s mother in 2002. Their estrangement got more complicated when Ted Beckham was less than supportive of Victoria during the dramatic events surrounding allegations of David having an affair. At that time, it is said that Ted advised David to make himself happy whether or not that meant staying with Victoria. Victoria did not take that advice well at all and has not welcomed Ted into her home since. Ted also wrote a book about his famous son in 2005 which further strained the relationship.

A family member said: “David has been saying ‘It’s not because he’s a big drinker - it’s because he works all the hours God sends. His dream has been to have a small apartment in Spain. Why didn’t I just buy him one for Christ’s sake? It could have saved him getting ill. The problem is he’s so bloody independent.’”

The family member continued: “Since he found out, David has been rambling and in a state of shock. He really feels he has really let his father down.

“He feels he’s not been there for his father in years. Ted has been lonely, that’s the problem. He depends on Lynne (David’s sister) and her children for comfort.

“With David living even further away, he feels he’s made it much worse for his father.

And as Ted drifted in and out of consciousness at the London Chest Hospital, in Bethnal Green, Beckham, 32, appeared to be overcome.

He broke down and visibly wept whilst cradling his father’s hands in his own.

The pair have not been close since Ted and David’s mother Sandra went through a bitter divorce in 2002.

Friends and family described David as being “in a state of shock” about the heart attack because he thought his father had been in such good health.

One family member told the Daily Mail last night how David has blamed himself for the sudden deterioration in his father’s health.

E! Online is reporting that Jackson’s representatives are saying he is NOT married to his nanny (I mean his childrens’ nanny!).

The singer’s rep issued a firm denial Thursday in response to a sudden flurry of reports stating that the self-proclaimed King of Pop had swapped vows with his children’s nanny, Grace Rwaramba, a frequent fixture in the courtroom during his trial on child-molestation charges in 2005.

“Wide spreading reports regarding Michael Jackson being married are not true,” publicist and resident rumor-buster Raymone Bain said in a statement to E! News. “Documents stating otherwise are a hoax.”

Earlier Thursday, the National Enquirer’s Website quoted a source supposedly close to the pair who said, “Grace was happy to go along with it. She’s always been devoted to Michael and has raised the kids since the day they were born. Michael knew she’d make a perfect stepmother.”

I’m not a very good celebrity gossip person I guess because I didn’t know there were rumors he was married till I found out he wasn’t. Well, who cares about Michael Jackson anyway? I don’t. I just think he should probably be in jail for child molestation. Otherwise, he’s just weird freakzoid Wacky Jacky.

So the lowdown is that he is rumored to be married but his people are saying he’s not married so he might be married but then again he might not be. Got that?

Did you catch the premier of The CW’s Gossip Girl on the 19th? I’ve been seeing ads for it everywhere and was curious to see what it was about. I missed the premier but took a look at the Gossip Girl website. There’s also a MySpace Fan Page and check out this video from Hallie at You Tube Videos.

The Gossip Girl is a new television series that is based on the novel series of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar. Its produced by Josh Schwartz, who was the producer of O.C., and Stephanie Savage. It is a dramatic series that follows the lives of three enormously wealthy socialites living in the Upper East Side of New York who are dealing with teenage issues of life.

The lives of these elite and vicious friends are complicated by The Gossip Girl. Its a mystery as to who The Gossip Girl really is. She’s one of them, but which one? She narrates the show while observing the lives of the characters in the show. At the same time she’s keeping a blog about the characters in the show and the events in their lives. The blog throws fuel of the fires of the dramas in the lives of the characters. The blog and the narrator are primary characters in the show even though no one knows who The Gossip Girl is. Her identity is a mystery.

The other main characters in the show are the three best friends, Serena van der Woodsen (played by Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester), and their shared romantic interest, Nate Archibald (played by Chace Crawford). Then there are Dan (played by Penn Badgley) and Jenny Humphrey (played by Taylor Momsen) who are not in the same social class but who are on the outside looking in. Even though they don’t run in the same circles, they are still part of the lives of the primary three characters.

I’ve heard that music will be a highlight of the show including songs by Rihanna, the Mooney Suzuki, Hanson, Amy Winehouse, Angel & Airwaves and more. That’s pretty impressive. The show is supposed to have outstanding music integrated into the story. Its also supposed to be a running fashion show.
